The Portuguese Caminho de Santiago routes are some of the prettiest options available to pilgrims. With good weather, excellent food and scenic countryside, you can’t go wrong with any of the Portuguese routes.

The Caminho de Santiago (Camino de Santiago in Spanish), also known as the Way of St. James, is a network of medieval pilgrim trails leading to the shrine of St. James the Apostle in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, northwestern Spain.

Buying a House in Central Portugal

Buying a house in Central Portugal is a great adventure, but it can be a long and frustrating process. Be prepared for surprises and disappointments in equal measure and remain open to compromise. Perseverance makes it possible.

Standing on the threshold of a large, dilapidated house, laughing hysterically while jangling through a set of rusty iron keys, none of which are labelled, none of which seem to fit the lock… This was less than poignant culmination of a long journey, driven by a whimsical dream turned steadfast objective. Fraught with difficulties and disappointments, punctuated by radical shifts in direction, ultimately concluded by blind luck.
